AMMAN – Under the patronage of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), the Creativity & Entrepreneurship Center at the Amman Arab University (AAU) organized ‘Yaumi Al Reyadah’ festivities with the presence of HE Prof. Mohammad Al-Widyan, AAU president, and a host of entrepreneurs, students and interested participants.
The event was held with the aim of promoting the concept of entrepreneurship, as well as enhancing attendees’ excellence by reviewing success stories of Jordanian as well as other world-known entrepreneurs; and identifying Talal Abu-Ghazaleh as the first role model amongst them.
During the opening ceremony, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh shared parts and lessons of his career journey, starting with his graduation from the American University of Beirut and his career achievements in founding TAG.Global which became the world’s largest leading organization, particularly in the field of Intellectual Property Rights’ (IPRs) protection. TAG.Global has expanded currently to more than 100 offices around the world.
“After my graduation from the University, I realized that Intellectual Property Rights would be one of the basic components of progress and excellence, therefore, I started studying and searching in this field on my own,” Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh said.
“Without delay, I established, Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP), a global firm for the protection of IPRs that is founded on information technology and Big Data, to become afterward the top firm in its field worldwide.’
In the same context, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh stated that creativity has three main prerequisites; it should be ICT-enabled, innovative, and it should have an added value. Towards that goal Dr. Abu Ghazaleh added, that TAG.Global has successfully managed to compete with the world’s largest technology corporations by establishing Talal Abu-Ghazaleh for Technology (TAGTech), that designs, produces, and manufactures technological products with high-specs at competitive and affordable prices for all, by its own experts.
He attributed TAGTech’s excellence and distinction to its dedicated team which tirelessly achieve their tasks under the theme (We work harder not just to succeed but to stay first).
For his part, Dr. Al-Widyan expressed his thanks and appreciation to Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh for his kindness in patronizing the event, saying: “Presently, we are living in an era of rapid changes due to economic and health crises, where the entrepreneurship has become a life preserver to drive economy, sustainability and job creation.”
He further stressed Amman Arab University’s keenness, since its establishment, on becoming a distinguished institution in education and scientific research, as well as an effective tool in building a knowledge-based society by adopting entrepreneurship and excellence as the main pillars of success at all stages of education.
At the end of the ceremony, moderated by Dr. Rami Hanandeh, Creativity & Entrepreneurship Center manager at the AAU, the two parties agreed to strengthen cooperation in various areas of common interest specially in creativity and innovation in collaboration with Talal Abu-Ghazaleh University College of Innovation (TAGUCI).
